Joey Strength is a partner in the firm's Real Estate Practice Group and also practices in the Governmental Practice Group.  Mr. Strength has extensive experience in a variety of real estate-related matters.  He frequently negotiates and closes purchase and sale transactions for residential and commercial properties, advises clients on like-kind real estate exchanges, represents lenders in secured transactions, assists developers with subdivision and condominium development and other real estate matters, represents property owners in ad valorem tax appeals, and serves as legal counsel to a nonprofit land trust.

Mr. Strength received his undergraduate education at the University of Alabama.  He earned his Juris Doctorate with honors from the University of Alabama School of Law.  In law school, Mr. Strength was the brief-writer for the Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Team and helped his team win the Baxter Award for the best applicant brief in the international competition.  After law school, he entered the United States Army Judge Advocate General's Corps, assigned to Fort Hood, Texas, where he served as a legal assistance attorney, military prosecutor, and a Special Assistant United States Attorney for the Western District of Texas.

Mr. Strength is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia, and the State Bar of Alabama.  He serves on the Board of Directors of the St. Simons Land Trust, Inc., the United Way of Coastal Georgia, Inc., and St. Marks Towers, Inc. 

Mr. Strength is a member of the St. Simons Presbyterian Church.  He is married to Deanie Strength and they have two children.
