K. Martin Worthy

K. Martin Worthy is of counsel with the firm's Trusts & Estates Practice Group.  Until he retired in 2001, Mr. Worthy was a partner with Foley & Lardner in Washington, D.C.  Previously, he served as Chief Counsel for the Internal Revenue Service and as Assistant General Counsel of the Treasury from 1969 to 1972.  Mr. Worthy was a member of the National Council on Organized Crime from 1970 to 1972.  He is admitted to the bar in Georgia and the District of Columbia.

Mr. Worthy earned his Bachelor of Philosophy degree from Emory University and his Juris Doctorate from Emory Law.  He also holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from Harvard University.

Mr. Worthy is a member of the St. Simons Rotary Club, the Ivy League Club of the Golden Isles, and the Civil War Round Table of the Golden Isles.  He is chairman of the St. Simons Island Public Library Foundation.
